Sashes
A Kung Fu student's experience is represented by coloured sashes rather than belts.
Sashes are wider and worn with the knot to the side rather than the centre.
To gain the next sash you must be tested on your knowledge and form in a grading by an external Sifu.
We will let everyone know when the next grading is coming up and if you are ready!
You also will need a licence which when youre getting ready for your first Grading we'll talk to you about.
For some sashes there are courses that must be completed before you can grade. These courses are run centrally by the British Kung Fu Association​
White
Students do not automatically start at White sash, you have to earn it!
Blue
Orange
Before you can grade you must complete an Anatomy Course
Green
Yellow
Before you can grade you must compete a First Aid Course
Purple
Brown
Before you can grade you must complete both Brown 1 and Brown 2 Course
Black
Before you grade you must complete both Coaching and Referee courses.
Black is the highest sash however it has 5 degrees.
